Lefteris Tsikandilakis was born in Heraklion, Crete, in 1964. He graduated from the Department of Architectural Engineering of the NATIONAL TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS in 1988. In 1989 he completed his postgraduate studies in “Industrial Design and Interior Design” at the DOMUS ACADEMY in Milan with a scholarship from the National Federation of Architects and Engineers. In 1990 he collaborated with the DOMUS ACADEMY and specifically with Antonio Petrilo in his research project on “Industrial design of elements for the configuration and organization of public urban spaces”. During the period 1990-1991 he worked with the architectural office of ANNA CASTELLI-FERRIERI in Milan.
He is a founding member of ACF Officina, a group founded by Anna Castelli-Ferrieri and designers of different nationalities in 1990, with which he created the “Cirri” and “Nomadi” series, produced by the Italian company SAMPONET.
The architectural office with the name “Lefteris Tsikandilakis & Associates” was founded by him in November 1991 at 8 Thalita Street in Heraklion, Crete, in an area of 110 sq.m. and deals with architectural studies of private and public projects, configurations of professional spaces, restorations of listed buildings and specialized in the design of pharmacies. Specifically, it undertakes the architectural study of residences, hotels, shops, public works and pharmacies, where with extensive work experience, multiple collaborations with foreign companies and innovative ideas, it aims to create spaces of high aesthetic and functional performance in order to meet the needs of the client in the best possible way. At the same time, it respects the limitations arising from the location and the particularities of each study area, plot, building, etc.
The office, which employs people of various specialties such as architects, engineers, decorators and civil engineers for structural projects, gradually expanded and since 2004 has been located at 8 Patros Antoniou Street in Heraklion, Crete, in an area of 205 sq.m.
In November 2007, the company “Lefteris Tsikandilakis Construction” was founded, which, with excellent know-how and technical training, provides the ability to fully implement the special projects designed by “Lefteris Tsikandilakis & Associates”, in order to ensure the timely and complete completion of the site study as well as the provision of equipment until the final delivery of the project.
The company's renewed workforce has been providing its services throughout Crete, Athens and the rest of Greece since August 2010, marking a new beginning for the company and the construction industry nationwide.
Our space was further developed in 2015 with an additional 120 sq m and can be used in various ways, thus covering a variety of needs as well as hosting exhibitions, promoting and contributing to the art sector in the city.
