It is now starting to be applied in Greece and according to its founder, Francoise Freedman, it has spectacular results, psychologically as well as physically for the expectant mother.<\/p>\n<p>Aqua yoga is based on the principles of yoga and aims to help expectant mother and baby relax, enjoying together simple movements combined with breath control. The body in the water works better and more fully, with comfort, without burdening the joints and increasing the temperature. Basic for the best implementation of the exercises, is for the pregnant woman to learn to maintain the alignment of the body in the water. Having her body submerged up to the shoulders, she works all parts of it evenly due to the resistance and reduces her weight only to 10%. Also, the hydrostatic pressure affecting all the organs and especially the cardiovascular benefits from a venous inversion, as a result of which it keeps the heart rates low.
