Many incidents around the world are caused, not only due to carelessness, but also due to ignorance about safety while swimming.<\/p>\n<p>But, the myths are slowly &quot;disappearing&quot; and the truth is coming to light about drownings in the water of the pool or the sea... So protect the children and yourselves!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pool chemicals are not dangerous.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Poison centers receive thousands of reports a year of health problems after exposure to pool chlorine\u2026 with two out of five cases involving children under the age of six.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PoolAbout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Still hundreds of cases<\/a> were accompanied by respiratory problems and eye irritation, usually due to the mixing or use of chemicals in swimming pools. Almost one in three deaths in this age group is due to drowning. At the same time, for every death of a child under the age of 14, there are four visits to the intensive care unit from the same cause.<\/p>\n<p>Many children are at risk of permanent brain injuries and damage. So keep an eye on the new swimmers, even if you are nearby, because they often return to the water without a second thought...<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Girls are at greater risk than boys.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Four out of five drowning victims are boys or men, as they show more confidence in their swimming skills. Mostly teenagers show excessive confidence in themselves than girls of their age.<\/p>\n<p>It is therefore a good idea to enroll your children in swimming lessons from a young age, so that the chances of future danger in the sea are automatically reduced by 90%. However, your supervision while they are in the water is essential...<\/p>\n<p>Myths and reality about drowning in water!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most adult drownings happen close to home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When referring to adults and adolescents over the age of 15, we must specify that most drownings occur in the natural environment, such as in lakes, rivers and oceans.<\/p>\n<p>Alcohol is the leading cause of drowning in at least half of cases. That&#039;s why you avoid swimming under dangerous weather conditions and after using alcohol...<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Life jackets are not required on short boat trips.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Life jackets save lives even when it comes to short boating!
