The extraordinary natural environment of the Baja California peninsula with its semi-desert landscape in shades of ocher, in contrast to the deep blue of the Sea of Cortez, provides an ideal<\/a> selected framework for the construction of a new landmark hotel for the country \u2013 the Solaz Hotel Los Cabos. A landmark hotel<\/p>\n

Celebrating the integration between landscape, architecture and art,<\/strong> Solaz Los Cabos covers a total area of 9.8 hectares along a stretch of coast that includes unique topographical formations.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

The architectural concept was guided by this need to properly integrate the structure into its environment, achieved through the use of organic forms that refer to the movement of waves, producing an attractive series of volumes that adapt to the site.<\/p>\n $\"\"$ \n

The choice of materials, planting and construction methods reinforce this sense of integration and were meticulously thought out to ensure they fit this beautiful location.<\/p>\n

Solaz Los Cabos Hotel<\/h2>\n
The services provided by the development are designed to offer a range of accommodation and hospitality options to visitors from both Mexico and abroad. It consists of hotel, apartments, restaurants, spa, amenities, museum, open squares and more.<\/p>\n
As a result of the natural steep topography of the site, which rises from sea level to the north, it was decided to form three large curved terraces running east-west, and to place the hotel rooms at the western end.<\/p>\n
Circulation between these terraces is through narrow plantings that also act as dividing corridors with dense planting to separate the various functions, creating greater privacy.<\/p>\n
Given the slope, each terrace rises above the other in a staggered fashion, with south-facing facades meaning that all spaces enjoy stunning sea views. Amenities including swimming pools, beach club, sunbeds are located on the lower level, next to the beach. The access level is inside the main building.<\/p>\n $\"\"$ \n

This construction, which shows great plasticity of form and organic movement, looks like three blocks stacked on top of each other. Each block includes two floors to give a total of six and contains hotel rooms inside. The volume of this building combines the same concept of integration into the environment, while its movement allows the creation of a better view, offering the development with a unique tectonic character.<\/p>\n
The apartments managed by the hotel are three volumes of square proportions distributed along the entire length of the south side of the site. The different typologies of the suites and rooms of this hotel emerge from the topography that blends harmoniously with the sandy beach.<\/p>\n
A landmark hotel<\/h2>\n
To reach them, a courtyard-lobby serves as both an entrance and a bridge between the topographic undulations of the exterior and the welcoming geometry of the interior. A warm atmosphere created by tropical wood, fabrics with fresh, Mexican colors and lines with stone create a distinct contemporary aesthetic in each room.<\/p>\n
One of the pillars of Solaz Los Cabos is the artistic intervention in many of the spaces. Here, Mexican artist Cesar L\u00f3pez Negrete creates and exhibits over 400 works of art commemorating the life and culture of Baja California in ancient times.<\/p>\n $\"\"$ \n
His artistic vision complements every detail of the construction, both on the micro level (hotel rooms) and on the macro level (open squares and public spaces), in the appropriation of the space and the integration with the space. Solaz's presence in Los Cabos is notable for the way architecture is woven into an integrated landscape project, created in collaboration with Gabayet 101 Paisaje.<\/p>\n
The plant palette was supplemented with further native species in accordance with the landscape design and intent of each site. In this way, the architecture and landscaping harmonize with the exterior corridors, passageways, outdoor amenities, lobbies, restaurants, green roofs on the volumes descending to the sea, etc. These landscaped areas seek to mimic the local vegetation and its unique natural environment.<\/p>\n
With its contemporary Mexican design, its appropriate integration into the landscape and the sum of a complete work of art, this hotel is expected to be the next icon in the international hospitality industry.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
