The Playa del Carmen Grand Hyatt project is located in the heart of Playa del Carmen on an irregular site that slopes down to the sea, with a 140-meter beach and a significant area of natural mangroves to be preserved. Grand Hyatt in Mexico<\/p>\n

A series of distribution, utilization studies<\/a> land and protection of the natural space led to the development of an architectural program divided into three blocks with architectural solutions that protect and enhance the environment<\/a>. Each block is designed with a different intention to create a wide range of sensations, pathways and experiences for visitors and visitors.<\/p>\n $\"\"$ \n

The first block forms the connection between the boulevard and the hotel, creating an interior pedestrian and vehicular street lined with retail shops, creating an informal urban atmosphere reminiscent of the famous 5th Avenue.<\/p>\n

Grand Hyatt in Mexico<\/h2>\n
This internal road rises to define the access route to the central plaza, which becomes the engine lobby. Taking advantage of this elevation, the ballrooms are located below the square, while the back areas of the houses are located below this internal street.<\/p>\n
The second block is located in the center of the site, forming a visual and spatial connection between the various elements. It has a rectangular shape, surrounded by a four-story block of hotel rooms. Inside are the magnificent mangrove gardens, which are maintained and used to create a central garden, the perfect backdrop for the surrounding rooms.<\/p>\n $\"\"$ \n
Above this garden and right in the center of the second block is an open covered walkway, with amenities, gazebos and an excellent view of the sea, which can be seen from the first block. The space below this walkway is used for meeting rooms and the spa.<\/p>\n
A large curved, conical, stone-clad volume emerging from the earth is the main visual element associated with the spa. Its design evokes the magnificent cenote pools that are unique to this area. Within an extensive, peaceful space is provided for guests to relax.<\/p>\n
Beyond the top of the cenote, visitors descend a ramp to a large area that features a stand serving various types of refreshments one might find in a traditional Mexican market, such as agua fresca. As the closest to the sea, the third block offers the best view, which is shared with the rest of the site and enhanced by an impressive 12m high window that spans 55m wide.<\/p>\n $\"\"$ \n
This last block is the heart of the hotel and hosts the recreational amenities, with the advantage of direct contact with the beach.<\/p>\n
Pools and terraces surround the four-story building, providing rooms and suites with the best views. The choice of materials and finishes was based on adaptation to the environment, with sand-colored cladding and stone, extensive use of natural wood, native vegetation, water bodies and warm, indirect lighting, among other details.<\/p>\n
The largest and most important spaces of the project were specially designed for the display of works of art. The concept of this art was worked together with the artist C\u00e9sar L\u00f3pez-Negrete and his works were created specifically for this project.<\/p>\n
Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos was responsible for the complete architectural design and interior design of the SPA, pools, gym, Grand Club lounge, bridal suite, two restaurants and back of house.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
