PENETRON\u00ae is a surface-applied crystalline concrete waterproofing mortar, which waterproofs and protects concrete in depth. It consists of Portland cement, specially graded quartz sand and active chemical compounds. When PENETRON\u00ae is applied to the surface of concrete, the active compounds react with moisture and the by-products of concrete hydration, causing a catalytic reaction, which produces insoluble crystals. The crystals "migrate" inside the pores, capillaries and micro-cracks of the concrete, through the effect of osmosis, preventing any further penetration of moisture (even at high pressure). On the other hand, PENETRON\u00ae allows the penetration of water vapor through the concrete (it allows the concrete to "breathe"). Even after the concrete has finished curing, PENETRON\u00ae remains inactive within the concrete and reactivates in the presence of moisture to seal capillary passages and microcracks.
