These units are ideal for indoor installation and equipped to reduce overall dimensions to a minimum, while at the same time making installation and maintenance work easier. Equipped with scroll compressors, optimized cooling circuit, operation adjustment depending on the place of installation, plate or tubular heat exchangers, inox-inox. These units have cooling and hydraulic circuits complete with everything necessary for quick installation and high energy efficiency. Replacement and Destruction of Freon 22 with a corresponding ecological one

The myclima company, committed to protecting the environment, has been equipped for several years with the necessary equipment that allows it to recover and store the R-22 freon in refillable 60 liter bottles so that when it is filled, the refrigerant goes to the warehouses of companies that have undertaken its destruction. With the regular training of its staff, it is able to carry out any conversion of an air conditioning unit from R-22 to R-407 or to R-410, enabling each unit to operate smoothly.

Chronology

Global legislation has been initiated by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and its purpose is to reduce the destruction of the ozone layer. The Montreal Protocol was adopted in 1987 in order to control the production of substances responsible for the destruction of the ozone layer, among which are CFCs, HCFCs.

Also, in the early 1990s, there were other treaties such as the London (1990), Copenhagen (1992) and Vienna (1995) Protocols.

CFCs, which have the highest Ozone Depletion Performance (ODP), were phased out from 1 lan. 1996. Today, the only quantities of refrigerants that can replace existing CFC-using machinery are those stored in warehouses prior to 1996 and those salvaged from scrap and decommissioned machinery. However, machines already using CFCs are allowed to remain in operation.

The use of HCFCs (the most common of all is HCFC-22 or R-22 which has been in use for 60 years) have literally taken over the Air Conditioning Industry not only in chillers and heat pumps but in small air conditioners as well. The consumption of these refrigerants has been limited since 1996 in various levels.

European Union countries have adopted even stricter measures. Thus, heat pumps using HCFC-22 will cease to be produced beyond the end of 2003, production of chillers will cease completely beyond the middle of 2002, while technical support and maintenance of these machines will continue until the end of 2008.

One of the largest users of electricity, the HVACR industry is once again in the crosshairs of global legislation on Global Climate Change.

As with ODP, every refrigerant has a benchmark: the Global Warming Potential n GWP. The GWP unit is defined as the magnitude of a chemical's contribution to the greenhouse effect over a period of 100 years compared to that of CO2. The GWP of CO2 is set equal to 1 and varies depending on the refrigerant.

Yet another measure relates to the machine's consumption.

Thus, the more efficient the chiller, for example, the less energy is required to operate and therefore the less CO2 is released into the atmosphere from conventional fuels used in electric power plants. The most common of all HCFCs is R- 22 which has literally conquered the Air Conditioning Industry. It is obvious that the replacement new refrigerants should have the advantages that HCFC-22 does not have (from an environmental point of view), while at the same time they should maintain the same thermodynamic properties. Environmentally, ideal substitutes should therefore have zero ODP and low GWP.

The similarity of thermodynamic characteristics is important when converting refrigerants from one refrigerant to another, because n cooling capacity and n efficiency are drastically reduced. In the case of designing new coolers, matching the thermodynamic characteristics is less important because the new coolers will be specifically designed for the characteristics of the new refrigerant.

Several substitutes for R-22 have also been recognized by the AREP Alternative Refrigerant Evaluation Program. This international program, which is supported by the entire industry, was created by major manufacturers of refrigerants and air conditioning machinery, with the aim of having a broad base of evaluation of substitute media. All alternatives have a low toxicity index and are non-flammable, just like HCFC-22. However, their cooling capacities, efficiencies and operating pressures differ, which affects their applications. For a conversion of an old chiller to use a new refrigerant to be successful, it should have an operating pressure, cooling capacity and efficiency similar to that of HCFC-22. These thermodynamic characteristics guarantee the cooling capacity and performance of the chiller.
