Pool liner, case… indoor

We have chosen the type of pool that satisfies us. We have found the ideal place to install it. We have been informed about everything related to the hygiene rules that must be followed. What remains now is a final "touch" of aesthetics, from which the final result will be judged to a large extent. We are of course talking about the all-important... pool liner.

For many, "clothing" is one of the most important elements in swimming pool construction. Except from prefabricated swimming pools which most of the time have great tightness and durability, so for them the inner lining is not so important, for pools built in the traditional way, it is still more than necessary. Regardless of the type of lining we end up with, we must in all cases and above all be sure that it meets some necessary conditions, such as tightness, ease of cleaning and maintenance, resistance to temperature changes, resistance to chemicals used for cleaning, reduced slipperiness, resistance to ultraviolet radiation and finally defense against microorganisms that may appear.

Once the above is ensured, we must choose the type of interior investment that suits us and satisfies our own needs. The most common solution for most constructions is tiles – usually ceramic tiles to reduce slippage. An important advantage of this option is the huge variety of colors and designs offered, as well as the possibility of configuring the space with steps, corners, levels, etc., either in relief or on a smoother surface, but always with additional sealing for a perfect result.

In addition to tiles, liners (full body coverings), mosaics, simple painting and even decoration with real sea stones have recently become popular.

But let's see in more detail what are the most popular ways of lining a swimming pool today.

Tiles

 As mentioned before, tiles are the classic and most well-known way of lining a swimming pool. They are usually chosen in a sea or teal color to refer as much as possible to the natural marine environment. All over the world, despite new methods constantly appearing, there continues to be great confidence in this type of investment, which is tried and tested and combines a favorable price and almost always an impressive aesthetic result.

Mosaic - Mosaic

For many, mosaics are considered a top solution if money is not an issue and if all the emphasis is placed on the aesthetics of the whole project. And this, because with the mosaics, infinite designs can be made in ... an infinite variety of colors.

On the market there is a huge range of combinations of shades and designs for tiles that can make a swimming pool a truly spectacular sight, offering it the necessary brightness that is often missing from other types.

The mosaics are very durable over time and with proper maintenance and care, they do not deteriorate quickly. The colors most often chosen, apart from the classic teal, are all pastels. Also beautiful are the glass mosaics, which give the impression of greater depth to the pool water.

Finally, mosaics are the best choice when dealing with irregularly shaped tanks with many "bumps" or curved surfaces.

Paint

Painting is a method that can be applied exclusively to smooth surfaces and is usually chosen because it is the most accessible and economical of all solutions. For a perfect result, the final surface before painting, must not have any dents or any other "abnormalities".

For obvious reasons, the most common shades are those of blue and rarely green, (in larger tanks). Painting the inside of the pool, apart from the low cost and relatively simple and quick process, has a significant drawback. It doesn't last for more than 2-3 years, so that means it will have to be reapplied every time that time passes.

Liner

The liner is one of the less common methods of interior lining, mainly because it requires a more complex and difficult process. It is made of membranes of specific dimensions, depending on the size of the pool. for which it is intended. Because it is very difficult to apply perfectly, in the corners inside, most of the time, some special tiles are used that have a curved surface and perfectly cover the "difficult" spots.

The pool lining is made by mixing white cement with special additives and natural pebbles. For this type of construction, 'pebble' gives a unique feel and texture.

The water is iridescent in such a way that it plays with light which turns the swimming pools into natural water surfaces.

It is resistant to time and creates a non-slip surface and at the same time a very friendly texture to the skin because all the pebbles are naturally round.
